African American Trailblazers

The African American Trailblazers series explores the
lives and times of great African Americans, including prominent social
activists, political figures, writers, educators, and athletes. Each biography
focuses on a different inspiring individual who has influenced the course of
history. With the aid of primary sources and photographs, this set helps readers
understand each individual's social, cultural, and historical environments and
discover what makes each person so innovative and influential.
